During a trip to Corfu in October I climbed to the highest point on Corfu, Mount Pantokrator (906m) via 'The Corfu Trail' and a little bit of 'off trail' scrambling!
Although the summit was unspectacular (large TV Ariel, and a tarmacked road) the trail up there was incredible with amazing views all day over Corfu, Mainland Greece and Albania. With the exception of the tourists at the summit, the only other person I saw all day was a helpful goat framer who pointed me in the right direction when I was a little lost (due to the exceptionally sparsely detailed map or Corfu and distinct lack of path!). Corfu itself was an beautiful island, and October was an excellent time to go; still warm but very quiet with most of the hotels shut!
