The Great Ridge
Distance: 12 miles
Total Elevation: 852m
When? 26th February 2011
Where? The Peak District
Who? Richard and Me
What?
The Great Ridge seperates Hope Valley and the Valley of Edale and is made up of the following Peaks; Win Hill (462m), Lose Hill (476m), Back Tor, Hollins Cross, Mam Tor (517m) and Lord's Seat (546m)
It was about time I kick started 2011 walking with a weekend away. The Great Ridge was a perfect 'first walk of the season' - not too tough but still a fair distance with some good elevation, greats views and some real ale at the end! Highlights included the summit of Win Hill and the views of Mam Tor from Lose Hill onwards. Had a bit of rain, sunshine and wind (in that order), and I managed to only fall over in the mud twice. Best of all, I got to try out my new rucsack! Horrah!

Words
Thanks to Laughing Snail I found a lovely little website that transforms words into pictures, so I thought I’d see what it did with my Kilimanjaro Blog entry. Create your own at Tagxedo.
Morocco Plans
This month I booked my summer mountain trek for this year; a walk into the Altlas mountain range in Morocco, with the plan to summit, amongst others “North Africa’s Tallest Mountain” Toubkal. At 4000m it’s a pretty challenging 5 day trek! I’ve booked to go early August with the same trekking company that I travelled to Kilimanjaro with; Exodus.
